Most accurate virtual staging software (room 01, provisional)

Accurate means the staged photo is still a true photo of the room: same walls, windows, doors and camera frame. We measure both automatically after aligning each output to the original.

Partial results. As of 21 October 2026 we have scored room 01 of 10 for 8 tools (tested 19 October 2026), plus a few extra rooms for some. The other 12 of the 20 tools we list are not tested yet. No final ranking. How we test

Short answer

On room 01 the three lowest drifts among tools that kept the frame were Collov AI (11.0), Roomagen (15.3) and REimagineHome (16.2). TINTY, Pedra and virtualstaging.ai failed framing. The automatic check has limits. Collov AI on room 05: Framing passes and drift is low (21.4) because the automatic check only looks at the top 65% of the frame. It misses the biggest change: the two steps up to the bay are gone. Misrepresentation risk.

Frame kept
drift 11.0

Lowest architecture drift on room 01 and kept the frame.

Frame kept
drift 15.3

Kept the frame, low drift.

Frame kept
drift 16.2

Kept the camera frame.

Fidelity on room 01
Ranked by architecture drift, lower first. Framing thresholds: at least 97% of the frame visible, zoom 0.99-1.02, rotation at most 0.5°, at most 2% newly drawn.

#ToolRoom 01 drift / framingFraming detailOur note
1Collov AI11.0 Passzoom 1.0003, rotation -0.003°, 99.61% of frame visible, 0% inventedLowest architecture drift on room 01 and kept the frame. Removed the chair that was already in the room (allowed: it is furniture). Output is slightly smaller than the original (1200x896 vs 1280x960).
2Roomagen15.3 Passzoom 1.0001, rotation 0°, 99.74% of frame visible, 0% inventedKept the frame, low drift. The heavy tiled watermark makes the free output hard to use in a listing. Time is approximate (30–57 s observed).
3REimagineHome16.2 Passzoom 1.0028, rotation 0.048°, 99.81% of frame visible, 0.13% inventedKept the camera frame. The tiled watermark on the free output adds some edges, which nudges drift up a little. A second run through Styldod (same engine) scored 14.4 in about 38 s; only the first output counts.
4Apply Design17.2 Passzoom 1, rotation -0.01°, 99.74% of frame visible, 0% inventedKept the frame, no watermark, larger output. Slowest by far: about 585 s (almost 10 minutes) for one image, and the free tier is a single credit.
5TINTY18.1 Failzoom 1, rotation 0°, 89.06% of frame visible, 0% inventedFraming fails: the default crop frame returns a 3:2 image, so about 54 px are cut from the top and from the bottom (11% of the frame). Inside the visible area the architecture matches the original closely. Time is approximate (at most about 30 s).
6Pedra27.1 Failzoom 0.9871, rotation -0.48°, 99.88% of frame visible, 2.46% inventedFraming fails: zoomed out by about 1.3% and rotated about 0.5°, so roughly 2.5% of the image at the edges is newly drawn. After alignment the walls, column and doorway line up, but parts of the kitchen are redrawn and wall decor adds edges, so architecture drift stays high (27.1). Alignment explains about 10 of the 37.6 raw points.
7virtualstaging.ai28.2 Failzoom 0.9898, rotation -0.755°, 98.92% of frame visible, 2.94% inventedHighest architecture drift on room 01. The column is moved and the soffit is changed, which you can see in the comparison. It also zoomed out slightly and rotated about 0.8°, so framing fails. No watermark, same resolution as the original.
–MeltFlexUnknown alignment failed; unaligned 48.5 not comparablealignment failedFree download paywalled (Subscribe €12/mo); saved on-page preview. Official alignment failed (20/25 inliers); drift 48.5 is unaligned fallback. Diagnostic ratio 0.8: framing FAIL (zoom 0.84, 29% invented), aligned drift 38.0 — not an official v0.2 score.

Architecture drift runs from 0 to 100, lower is better (how much walls, windows and doors changed after aligning the output to the original). Differences of about 3 points or less are within measurement noise. Framing fails if the tool cropped, zoomed, shifted or rotated the photo beyond our thresholds.
