What it is
StagingBench is a public micro-benchmark for AI virtual staging products used in real estate marketing. Round 1 covers 20 tools (plus general-purpose baselines). Results are re-tested monthly on the same photo set. The project is part of Radar Makers and is not affiliated with any staging vendor.
Citeable facts (as of October 2026)
- Test set: 10 empty-room photos, CC0 or public domain, chosen to be difficult (open-plan, attic skylights, bay windows, small rooms, one partly furnished room). Sources and authors are in credits.json.
- Protocol: identical uploads, “modern” style, default settings, first output only (no re-rolls).
- Automatic checks: framing (crop / zoom / shift / rotation) and architecture drift after geometric alignment; scored with a fixed, documented script (method on the methodology page).
- Human ratings: planned blind ratings from agents and photographers; interim editor realism notes are labelled as such and are not the overall score.
- Integrity: no vendor can pay for inclusion, ranking, removal or early access. Sponsors (if any) get labelled placements outside the leaderboard only — see disclosure.
- Vendor right of reply: 7 days before a full round publishes; factual errors are corrected; a 150-word statement may appear on the tool page.
