Verdict

Roomagen kept the room closer to the original on room 01: architecture drift 15.3 vs 28.2 (lower is better). On published prices Roomagen is cheaper per staged photo: $0.40 vs $1.25 on the cheapest paid option.

Pick Roomagen if…
  • walls, windows and doors must stay as they are: lower room 01 drift (15.3 vs 28.2).
  • the delivered photo must keep your exact camera frame: it passed our framing check; virtualstaging.ai failed it (zoom 0.9898; rotated -0.76 deg; 2.9% of the output is outside the original frame).
  • the furniture has to look real: higher editor realism rating on room 01 (4.2 vs 3.4 of 5, one editor, not blind).
  • cost per photo decides it: $0.40 vs $1.25 on the cheapest paid option (Starter, $12/month).
  • you need restyling a furnished room, day-to-dusk, sky replacement, virtual renovation (wall and floor recolor) and an API: listed on Roomagen's pages, not listed or not verified for virtualstaging.ai.
Pick virtualstaging.ai if…
  • you want to judge a clean free result: our free download had no watermark (Roomagen's had a watermark (heavy tiled + badge)).
  • you need 360 or video output, a "virtually staged" disclaimer option and a stated commercial-use licence: listed on virtualstaging.ai's pages, not listed or not verified for Roomagen.

Built from the numbers below, not a paid placement. This is not a final ranking.

Room 01: original vs staged

Same empty open-plan room, default settings, first output only. Each image shows the original next to the aligned output.

What we noted

Roomagen

Room 01: Kept the frame, low drift. The heavy tiled watermark makes the free output hard to use in a listing. Time is approximate (30–57 s observed).

Editor notes: Living zone staged, kitchen left alone. Sizes are right, but a console table and lamp sit across the passage behind the column. No melted or floating objects; the heavy hexagon watermark covers everything.

Pricing notes: Our observation: room 01 at 2K gave 2400x1792; room 02 at the same 2K setting gave only 1200x896, matching the page's 'then 1K'. The account showed 4 credits after verification (6 advertised) and one 2-credit run took it to 0, so 2 credits are unaccounted for. 60 credits; every tool costs 2 credits.

virtualstaging.ai

Room 01: Highest architecture drift on room 01. The column is moved and the soffit is changed, which you can see in the comparison. It also zoomed out slightly and rotated about 0.8°, so framing fails. No watermark, same resolution as the original.

Editor notes: Living plus dining set-up suits open plan. A very large sofa plus a second sofa cut off at the bottom edge crowd the room; a dining table is cut off at the right. The building changed: the column moved left and the soffit and kitchen-side wall were redrawn.

Pricing notes: Unlimited plan $39/mo (fair use, own listings only) sits between Starter and Studio; yearly billing advertises 40% off. Credits roll over for 3 months.

Architecture drift runs from 0 to 100, lower is better (how much walls, windows and doors changed after aligning the output to the original). Differences of about 3 points or less are within measurement noise. Framing fails if the tool cropped, zoomed, shifted or rotated the photo beyond our thresholds. Editor realism ratings are one person's 1-5 ratings, not blind. Details: methodology. Partial results: 1 of 10 rooms scored for most tools (Collov AI also has rooms 02-05, Pedra rooms 02-06 and Roomagen room 02. The leaderboard still compares room 01 only.).
